Soul Jazz Sound System is a DJ collective associated with the Soul Jazz record label and the Sounds Of The Universe record shop in London. They are not a traditional Sound System as they do not have their own physical sound, rather they play on in house systems or hire PA's. They grew out of the 100% Dynamite club nights started in Islington, North London in the 1990's.
The selectors include Stuart Baker, Scott Bethell, Pete Reilly, Karen Tate, Abi Clarke, Karl Shale, Dean Atkins, Jon Burnip and Kris Jones. Eddie Oxman from Dub Vendor frequently MC's for them.
The regular nights in London, 100% Dynamite, ended circa 2007 but they continued to play as the Soul Jazz Sound System , especially overseas.
