Heavenless is a Studio One rhythm first released in 1968. The original version was a trombone lead instrumental featuring Vin Gordon. Coxsone Dodd included the original on the posthumous The Best Of Don Drummond LP which has lead to the song being mistakenly credited to Don Drummond since this time.

The rhythm became very popular in the early 80's and was established as a Dancehall classic due to huge hits such as Triston Palma's Entertainment and Half Pint's Greetings.
