Addies AKA King Addies was a New York based Sound System. One of the first in America and certainly one of the most succesful. Formed around 1983 they quickly became a force to reckoned with and managed to attract many top Jamaican artists to perform with the sound, including Tenor Saw, Nitty Gritty, Nicodemus, Super Cat and Shabba Ranks.

This success continued well into the 1990's where from '93 to '98, in the era where specials had replaced live deejays on sounds, Tony Matterhorn was the main deejay and selector on the sound.
