Ackee was a UK Reggae label that ran from 1969 to around 1975, there were around 190 releases on 7" and no LP's. It was owned by Junior Lincoln who also ran the Bamboo and Banana labels. The first release was by the little know Jamaican Producer, Rupie Martin, The Arena/Natural on Ack101. Credited to Naturality on the UK issue Death In The Arena, as it was titled on the Jmaican issue on Modified identified the producer as the artist.
Perhaps the most notable releases on the label were a series of Studio One recordings from the likes of the Gladiators, The Beltones, Dennis Alcapone and Alton Ellis.
